Metro Dog is a Certified Green Business in Contra Costa County. We were the first and remain the only Green certified animal care center in Contra Costa County. We are serious about reducing our paw print on the planet. We offer:

  • Fresh, filtered water in every bowl, fresh air circulated by enormous fans, and overhead radiant heat to warm the center with the highest energy-efficiency rating available.

  • Disinfection is a core part of our business. We use veterinarian-developed neutral ph disinfectants that include virucides and a parvocide. We also use a live enzyme-based cleanser/deodorizer.

  • Sustainable products: 100% compostable bowls, towels, poop bags, and cleansers. Toys, leashes, and collars are made from recycled materials wherever possible.

  • We compost food waste! We are a part of the City of Richmond’s restaurant food scraps program. We keep leftovers out of the landfill and turn them into soil in the city’s municipal waste program.

  • We buy our energy through PGE’s sustainable energy providers.

  • NEW! Rent an outdoor play yard for your COVID-safe personal or pod use. Email info@metrodog.com to ask about cost & availability.
