Park Trip Adventure Application

About the Park Trip Program

Where do we go?
Metro Dog handlers take groups of 3-6 dogs into the East Bay Regional Parks for 45-60 minute off-leash excursions. We are permitted to use any of the EBRPD parks and trails open to Commercial Dog Walkers. We regularly frequent Pt. Isabel and Wildcat Canyon Regional Park. For a variety of reasons, we may choose another EBPRD park on any given day, but these are the main areas we use.

How do we get there?
Dogs that cannot go to all parks are ineligible for the park trip program. Preferences are understood, but we cannot promise that your preference can be accommodated. We transport the dogs loose, or on a tie down if needed, in a Ford Transit Connect Cargo Van. We may use a personal staff vehicle when needed. We mix company on park trips, meaning we will group compatible small and big dogs together.

Who is eligible?
All park trip dogs must be known clients. New client dogs are not eligible. All dogs must be fit, have excellent recall, and no health or behavior issues that would affect safety.

In order to participate, your dog will first be taken on one to several 3 dog park trips while we evaluate recall, behavior, and develop rapport to safely move into an off-leash situation. These initial park trips cost $75 each. Once approved, regular Park Trips cost $30 each. At any time, they may lose their privilege to attend for safety reasons.

Terms and Conditions

The parks are an unpredictable environment. Dogs can behave in ways that are out of character depending on the circumstance they are encountering. Our dog walkers are skilled in off-leash handling and management. Our number one priority is to keep everyone safe. For this reason, there may be a reason a trip is canceled or your dog doesn’t go on a day you requested a park trip.

To participate in this program means that you understand that all group walks happen at Metro Dog’s discretion. At any time, we reserve the right to NOT have your dog participate. We are always putting the dog’s welfare first.

Park trips have inherent risks. Clients assume all risks and liability for their dog while in the park. We travel by van to the park, encounter other people and animals while on our trip, and are in nature where a host of environmental risks exist.

We cannot guarantee that your dog will be unharmed in some way on these trips. If you are uncomfortable with the risks, we do not recommend this program. As dog owners who are liable for their dogs, all our group walk clients must be comfortable with the risks/responsibilities. You must be comfortable assuming responsibility for your dog’s behavior, regardless of your dog’s intent, as well as assume full liability for your dog.

You agree to hold Metro Dog and its agents harmless. Metro Dog will not be financially liable for injuries that may occur while out in the park system or in transit to or from the park. You agree to pay for any damage to property, animal or person that your dog is responsible for while on an outing, and you agree to trust the Metro Dog staff person’s communication of events or incidents involving your dog.

Metro Dog reserves the right to cancel park trips on any given day. Please sign below, indicating that you understand and accepts the risks of participating in the park trip program. The risks are not limited to the examples listed here.

In order to participate, your dog will first be taken on one to several 3-Dog Park Trips while we evaluate recall, behavior, and develop rapport to safely move into an off-leash situation. These initial park trips cost $36 each. Once approved, regular Park Trips cost $26 each.
